Betsy Allen has made a career of analyzing what makes a CEO successful and has studied highly successful business people such as John D. Rockefeller to understand the strategies they employed to achieve a high degree of business success.According to Betsy, CEOs who want to strive toward becoming a Gazelle organization, one that can consistently achieve 20% growth year-over-year, must instill the discipline to scale sustainably. To do that, Betsy suggests that every CEO must be prepared to answer 4 difficult questions: What strategy does the company need to deploy to achieve 20% or greater revenue growth? Do I have the right people around me in the right place to accomplish this goal? Is my business execution the most efficient that it can possibly be? Do I have the cash or "oxygen" to achieve the level of growth that will make me a Gazelle?Betsy encourages CEOs to create diversity in their leadership team, attracting individuals with different leadership and management styles to achieve balance. The organization can then focus on educating themselves to elevate self-leadership skills to leverage their team to accelerate growth.

He learned sales from the ground up and based on his almost three decades of sales experience, he has formulated a sales training program to maximize the effectiveness of any sales force.According to Limbeck, developing a sales management plan is one of the most important elements in developing goals for sales improvement. Most firms never take that first step and set the plan. Most just initiate sales training, without looking at the broad picture and evaluating what their sales force really needs to be successful. In training a sales team, Limbeck believes that sales people need to build their self-confidence and be proud of being a sales person to position themselves as professionals in the marketplace. His mantra is, "NO is short for Next Opportunity."

She believes that leaders need to clarify their expectations and communicate them clearly to their organization. Next, she focuses on "Accountability". Leaders generate a set of core values and house rules that keep everyone accountable to do the right thing. The "S" is "Simplify Systems" to help employees minimize frustrations and work smarter. Finally, the "Y" relates to "You". Leaders should model the behavior that they want others to follow.

However, training the experienced sales operation presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. Jims motto is "We know youre good, but are you good enough to get better." Jim believes that to train and ensure that training concepts are adopted in an organization, you have to focus on the sales leadership as well as the sales professional. Professional athletes have a coach and Jim believes that this should also extend to high performing sales people. Coaches should focus more on the how and why of the sales process to lead their people to higher results.Jim focuses on three concepts that can elevate an experienced sales persons performance. How do you communicate a stronger philosophy for your organization that differentiates you from the competition? How can you develop greater control of the sales process and project what you need to do as the sale unfolds? How do you get more stability in the sales process by getting higher, wider and deeper with the prospect?Jim believes that sales people typically behave like painters that look at each sale as if they are painting on an original canvas. Instead, Jim advises that sales people should behave more like printers who take the common elements of a successful sales process and print that process over again to repeat what has made them successful.

Lee works with firms to determine what market they are trying to reach, recognize what cultural diversity means in the marketplace and analyze the differences in how the ethnic population needs to be approached for the sale. Using that information companies develop a plan to reach their target audience in both B2B and B2C markets.Often positioning a product for an ethnic audience requires more than just modifying the marketing message. Sometimes it requires changing formulary, packaging or message.According to Lee, the growing ethnic population in the US represents a huge opportunity for American firms. Today, 1/3 of all consumers in the US are of ethnic origin and it makes up a $3 trillion buying market.  Most US firms have no idea how to relate to minorities in a business environment and most sales people unknowingly offend minority customers within the first 30 seconds of meeting them. This is not a short term effort or opportunity. According to Lee, it takes time to build relationships and tailor messages to meet the individual needs of each ethnic market.

John shares that learning/communication styles can be divided into four categories:  visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and haptic.   Everyone communicates best in their “hidden language” a specific way that they process information, manage relationships and make decisions.  Understanding your naturally “best language” and the learning/communication style  of the individual that you are training, selling to, and managing gives you a much stronger ability to reach that individual on a personal level. John emphasizes that we should move past the golden rule to the Platinum Rule™, is to treat people the way that they want to be treated.  Knowing your “hidden language” and the traits of others based on a simple observation of their eye patterns is a remarkable first step in the process.

Through that time, Stacy has seen a number of changes in the speaking industry and has managed to navigate his organization through those changes to keep it vibrant and relevant to the membership.According to Stacy, people often get into the speaking industry because they have a passion and a purpose. The NSA helps their members understand that they must take that passion and purpose and translate it into a business. Over the span of his tenure as the CEO, Stacy has seen the marketplace shift from a strong focus on being a "keynoter" to one of sharing expertise not only through keynotes, but to all of the other methods that are available to them. NSA has helped their members evolve and better understand how to manage the world of social media, webinars, twitter feeds and blogs as a way to get noticed and to get their message out there. NSAs goal is to focus on the 4 "Es" of what it takes to run a business. The first is to be eloquent in delivering the message. The second is to develop an expertise, and focus on the enterprise that will receive the message. The last E is to ensure that you conduct yourself in an ethical manner, respecting the intellectual property of others and the profession. On the personal side, Stacy has an interest that is very close to his heart, being an advocate for Downs Syndrome. Years ago, Stacy and his wife adopted a Downs Syndrome baby and as a result wrote a book called Windows Into Heaven: Stories Celebrating Downs Syndrome.
